“Procrastination is the bad habit of putting off until the day after tomorrow what should have been done the day before yesterday.”
- Napoleon Hill
Today’s tip is an important one. Everyone has something they’ve been putting off. You might have a reason, you might not. Either way, excuses can only work for so long before you need to do whatever it is that needs to be done.
Why not make today the day? Sit down and figure out what you’ve been putting off. Create a step-by-step guide to get it done and decide on a deadline. That way you force yourself to work as hard as you can to complete the task.
“How do you live a long life? Take a two-mile walk every morning before breakfast.” – Harry S Truman
Not all exercise has to be difficult. A nice, long walk outside can ease your mind and rejuvenate your soul. There’s nothing more relaxing than taking a long stroll through a park, a town, or even a busy city street. Wherever you are, make it your goal today to take a nice, long walk.
You might take it in the morning before you eat breakfast. Or perhaps you’re a night owl that prefers walking at night after the sun has set. Either way, get outside and get some fresh air.
Focus on clearing your mind as you walk and take the time to notice your surroundings. You’ve got plenty of time to think about the other things in life when you get done with your walk.
“If you’re not using your smile, you’re like a man with a million dollars in the bank and no checkbook.” – Les Giblin
The quote above says it all. There’s nothing better than putting a big smile on your face, especially if you mean it. Today, your number one goal is to smile as much as possible. It doesn’t matter if you have a rough day at work or you’re feeling down, just keep on smiling!
You’ll start to notice that it’s very difficult to not be happy when you’re always smiling. Best of all, smiles are contagious so you will spread the joy to everyone around you.
Those who do not find time for exercise will have to find time for illness.
- Earl of Derby
Have you done a push-up lately? If so, you’re in luck. The goal for today is to do at least 20 of them. Don’t worry if you can’t get them all in a row. Just make it a goal to get 20 push-ups done between the time you wake up and the time you go to bed.
Doing the push-ups will help clear your mind, as well as put you in a great mental state for the day. Best of all, you’ll feel good knowing you accomplished your goal. So hop on out of your chair and get started. The sooner you get them done, the sooner you can relax knowing you’ve completed them!
